Hello Friends,
Today, Linda settled into her new routine at Spaulding. She had a pretty good morning, actually sitting upright in her chair for an hour. Her pain level was intense today, and the doctor explained that’s because they had to cut through several muscles in her neck and back during the surgery to rebuild her spine. She’s healing, but the process will be low.
The staff at Spaulding is amazing and we’re very happy with the facility overall. Soon, Linda will begin her intensive physical therapy. It won’t be easy, but she is determined to get better.

After my accidental fall resulting in a severe spinal injury on August 1, 2017, doctors felt I wouldn't survive much past the initial 5 hr surgery. They also described the break as a complete injury which would leave me paralyzed, with a tracheotomy, feeding tube.
My motto since day one has been “ you don’t know me!” and I proved that in the past 2 years. Turns out the injury was not a complete injury. With that the hunt began to find PT that had the equipment to help me overcome the injury.
So always keep in mind these things in mind: Courage, Perseverance, Faith, Hope and Love.
